Donations Welcome

Thank you for thinking of Reclaimed Creations as you discard or give away items that still have life left in them. As you may know, clothing makes up a huge percentage of our nation’s ‘trash’.  The vast majority of our ‘trash’ is either incinerated, land filled or exported to other countries where it gets land filled.  This is especially true since fast fashion has became so popular. As a nation we need to consume less and value what we have more.  By donating your stuff to me, you are reducing our collective footprint on earth, if only by a tiny bit.  It all adds up.

Here is what I can use:

• Wool sweaters – they must be 85%-100% wool of some sort. Check the label.  If there’s at least 85% of wool, I can use it.  Wool = cashmere, merino, lambswool, Shetland wool, wool, alpaca, possum, angora and even mohair.

• Wool scarves - they must also be 85%-100% wool of some sort.

• Wool yarn, sport weight or worsted weight

• Wool crewel embroidery yarn

• Buttons – any color but white

Please make sure that whatever you give me is clean, mildew-free, moth-free and not broken. Small holes and stains that don’t wash out or disappear when dry cleaned are ok.
